How can I print or make copies in the library?

191 views   |   0 Vote this question as useful.   Last updated on Dec 07, 2022

Yes. Patrons must log in to the library printers using their Wagner ID card or their Wagner OneLogin credentials. Only current students, faculty and staff members have a printing account.

Print jobs can be sent from library computers to SecurePrint, or can be emailed (from your Wagner email account only) to mobileprint@wagner.edu. File formats for mobile print must be PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG or PNG only.

Copies, scanning and printing are available and pricing varies dependent on choices made for simplex, duplex, greyscale or color printing.

To refill your printing funds balance, go to the Bursar's office (Cunard Hall), pay for printing, and get a receipt. Bring that receipt to the IT Help Desk (lower level of library) and they will add the funds to your printing account.

We recommend using the Online Writing Lab of Purdue University's citation resources. They're great!

You can find guidelines and examples of in-text and bibliography citations for all styles using our Cite Your Sources LibGuide, which has links to these resources for all citation styles.

You can also ask a librarian for questions regarding citations - come to the Reference desk during library hours or email us at library@wagner.edu

May I renew my books online?

171 views   |   0 Vote this question as useful.   Last updated on Dec 07, 2022

Yes but remember, library books are checked out to you for the whole semester, so you probably won't need to renew them! Visit the library catalog, log in using your name and library barcode number, click on your name to see what you have borrowed and then select items and renew them. If you don't have a library barcode on the back of your Wagner ID card then call us, chat with us online, or email us and we'll set you up.

You have two choices.

  1. We offer interlibrary loan and document delivery services to current students and faculty, enabling patrons to borrow books from other libraries and even get full text articles emailed to them. Please see the Interlibrary Loan page for more details.
  2. Students and faculty may also come to the library to ask for a "METRO" pass, which will allow you to visit certain metropolitan New York libraries for your research. Call the library for more information, 718-390-3401.

How do I find books by their call number?

169 views   |   0 Vote this question as useful.   Last updated on Nov 22, 2022

All books held in the library are assigned a "Call Number," which lets you know where it is shelved in the library. Library of Congress Call Numbers are made up of a combination of letters, whole numbers and decimal numbers.

PS Letters of the Alphabet
3525 Whole Numbers
.I96 Letters and Decimal numbers
G6 Letters and Decimal numbers

The third and fourth lines are usually made up of combinations of letters and decimal numbers. They place all of the PS3525 books alphabetically by author and title. The 96 of .I96 should be shelved reading the number digit by digit from left to right. Hence .I933 would be shelved before .I96. The call number PS3525.I96 G6 means the following:

PS American Literature
3525 Authors in the early 20th Century whose last names begin with "M"
.I96 Margaret Mitchell, specifically
G6 Gone with the Wind

If you have questions, please ask a librarian.
